Back home...

After six month in one of the most beautiful countries of the world, I am finally back. It took me almost two days to get home. I also had a night in Seoul at the Hyatt Hotel which I can definitely recommend.

It was a great surprise that so many of my friends showed up at the airport in Berlin.. thanks to: My parents, Elena, Kai, Andy, Lars, Mareike, Sebastian , Daniel for being there. You guys are awesome.

Here a few last shots from New Zealand and home.

amazing tips...

On friday I worked as usually in my restaurant/bar nothing really special happend and as usual the Kiwis didn't tip too well. Let's say it this way, they are keeping their money together...
But out of a sudden a guy just gave me US-Dollars and said:" You can go to the bank and change them , there is nothin' wrong with it." I just said thank you and thought that I just got something like 4 US-Bugs... But when I looked at it closer I figured out, that this guy just gave me 200 (two-hundred) US-DOLLARS in tips... I now offically hold the record for highest tips at my restaurant!!!
I gave 50 US-Dollars to a co-worker who served them a bit as well.
But still I earned 150US-Dollar which is almost 200 NZ.. I paid my rent for a week, got a haircut, a lunch and a dvd from that..

Alright... I supppose this will never happen in my entire life again... but still I am quite happy...

For the record it was a family with mum, dad and son...

New Job..

After a little desperate search for a job here in Auckland I finally found something nice. Yesterday morning I got a nice wake-up call from a manager of a bar/restaurant where I applied. He said he just reviewed my application form and would like to talk to me in the afternoon. Although I was still almost asleep I managed to see that as really nice oppurtunity for myself.
Right in time at three o'clock I walked in the bar/restaurant and after a little chat where I discovered that my new boss is a really nice friendly guy who thinks that I would fit perfect to the team and including my previous expierence in the hospitality buisness are perfect for the job.
Today was my first day I did quite well and I am allowed to come back and start working at the weekend. Everything is fine the crew is nice the drinks are good and the food seems to be amazing. Fortunately I got half price on everything so I can afford to eat there as well.
so that is it for the moment... you may comment or e-mail any further questions...

Christmas and New Years Eve

Happy New Year all my friends and family.
I had a fantastic christmas although it felt a bit strange with the warm sunny weather and a blue pacific as a skyline for a christmas dinner.
New Years Eve was not too great... But I had a really nice first of january on the beach.. It was the warmest start in the new year I ever had.
I will upload a few more nice pictures soon.
cheers.

NEWS

Hi. After a long long time you will get again a full nice blog entry including a few nice pictures. As usual a lot happened in the last few weeks. I worked in Dunedin in a Bed and Breakfast, which was quite fun. There we did a few nice day trips as well and on one trip I saw my first wildlife penguins. The little blue penguins and the yellow-eyed-penguin. These two species are among the rarest on this planet. Now I am in Christchurch on a CHRISTMASTREE-FARM!!! So I get a bit of the "Christmasfeeling".
We are living here together with a lovely couple that owns this farm. All we have to do is selling a few trees per day, driving with a traktor and helping a bit in the household. For that we get things like free quad drives as much as we want on their farm, a pool and a spa (whirlpool). Of course we also get good food together with them and we can watch Pay-Tv on their 42" Plasma-TV. Yesterday the two took us on a tour around Christchurch in their yellow Saab-Convertible... Life is fucking great.. But everyhing is going to end one day so we are travelling back north tomorrow. But as lucky as we are we can sleep for free in their beach house which is a few hours up north precisely on our route.
Just a sentence about the weather. At the moment we have sunshine all day. Blue sky and really exactly the right temperature to go swimming in the pool and in the ocean what I did yesterday.
Alright I think you can see that I am enjoying my time...
